Police Recruitment Board released a notification regarding Sub-Inspector posts
recruitment on 23rd November 2016. This recruitment notification is
only for sportsperson and the number of vacancies available for Sportsperson category is 3% of posts in District Police Cadre, Intelligence Cadre and IT
& T department’s 2016 SI recruitment notifications and How many vacancies
are available in each cadre or department are given below? Go through it.
Punjab Police Recruitment Board is inviting all the eligible sportsperson (Male
& Female) to apply for this recruitment through online and the online
applications for this notification are available from 24th November
2016 in the official website of Punjab Police http://punjabpolicerecruitment.in.
The candidates who are interested and eligible based on the requirements of
this recruitment can apply for it through online on or before 14th
December 2016. In this article we provide all the essential details of this

Age Limits: Age is considered as on 1st January 2016 and
upper age relaxation is applicable to SC/ST/BC/Employees of Punjab Government
as per Govt. rules.
Minimum Age – 18 years
Maximum Age – 28 years
Educational Qualifications: the required Educational qualifications
are considered as on 23rd November 2016.
- Graduation or its equivalent from recognized
university.
- Must have passed Matriculation Examination
with Punjabi as one of the Compulsory or Elective subjects or any other
equivalent examination in Punjabi language.
Sports Achievements: the required sports achievements of the
candidate to apply for this recruitment of Punjab Police are
- Representation by candidate at
International Level Competitions recognized by Indian Olympic Association/National
Federations in any of the specified Game/Event.
Physical Standards: The candidate’s minimum required height for
both male & female to apply for this recruitment are
Male – 5’ 5” (5 Feet 5 Inches)
Female – 5’ 2” (5 Feet 2 Inches)
Application Fee: Candidates can pay the application fee through
online in the sense of Net banking/Debit Card/Credit Card and also offline in
the sense of paying the fee amount in any branch of HDFC with the system
generated challan form.
General candidates – Rs. 700/-
SC/ST/BC Candidates – Rs. 300/-
Note: After fee payment in
offline mode, candidate needs to upload the candidate’s copy of challan by
logging in using their username & Password.
Selection Procedure:
1. Scrutiny of Applications
Forms: Recruitment Board will short list the candidates based on their
qualifications which are given in their online application form. Short listed
candidates will be called for physical trails.
2. Physical Trails:
- Substance Abuse (Drug Addiction)
Test
- Physical Measurement Test
3. Sports Trails: this
test is for 20 Marks and this will be conducted on the specified Discipline (Concerned
Sports).
4. Scrutiny of Sports
achievements (Certificates): Recruitment Board will verify the Sports achievements
(Certificates) of the candidate and gave marks based on their sports
achievements out of 25 marks.
5. Interview cum personality
Test: 5 Marks for this phase
6. Final merit list is prepared
based on the marks of Sports trail, Sports Achievements (Certificates) and
interview(total 50 marks). The candidates will be finalized for appointment after the below tests.

- Educational certificates verification from the concerned Board/University
- Sports Certificates (achievements) verification
