J & K Police Constable Recruitment Notification 2016: Jammu
& Kashmir state Police recruitment board released its 2016 recruitment notification
for constable posts in IRP Battalions/Armed/Executive Police on 8th October
2016. This notification of J & K Police is for 4340 Constable Posts in IRP
Battalions, 386 Constable Posts in Armed Police Cadre and 655 Constable Posts
in Executive Police Cadre. District wide vacancies details of each department/cadre
are given below in vacancies column. J & K Police is inviting all the
eligible candidates who are permanent residents of J & K State to apply for
this recruitment of J & K through online. The online applications are now
available in the official website of J & K Police www.jkpolice.gov.in from 7th
November 2016. The final appointment/posting is made at District level. So, the

Age Limits: Age is considered as on 1st January 2016.
Minimum Age – 18 years
Maximum Age – 28 years
Educational Qualification: minimum required educational qualification
of the candidate (considered as on the last date of online applications)
- Should have passed
Matriculation or its equivalent examination from any Government recognized Board.
Physical Standards: The minimum required height and chest
measurement details are
For Male:
Height: 5 Feet 6 Inches (5’ 6”)
Chest: 32 inches (un-expanded),
33 ½ inches (expanded)
For Female:
Height: 5 Feet 2 Inches (5’ 2”)
Application Fee: Application fee amount deposit through online or use
the Service of Common Service Center. If online payment is not available then
go through the system generated bank challan (no Guarantee for Successful
Payment so, keep proof of offline payment).

Selection Procedure:
1. Physical Endurance Test
(PET): Qualifying Nature only

2. Physical Standard Test
(PST): The candidates who qualify in PET will only allowed for PST.
Physical Standard Test is measurement of Height and chest. Candidates need to
bring the Original Documents/Certificates for verification.
3. Written Examination:
The candidates who qualify both PET & PST are called for the written
examination. The written exam consists of 100 objective type questions and time
duration for the exam is 2 hours. The questions are given on the Matriculation standard;
the topics are General Awareness/General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics,
Analytical Aptitude and Ability.
